UPDATED: A presentation and panel discussion will explore the effectiveness of the Occupy movement in addressing the top concerns of the next generation. The event begins with a presentation of new polling information that suggests that jobs and the economy have sharply risen as quality of life priorities in Massachusetts.  The poll numbers will be released Wednesday, December 7.

Upon arrival, participants will be asked whether they agree or disagree with the framing question by choosing seats on either the “yes” side of the room or the “no” side. After the panel has concluded, participants will have the opportunity to move if their opinion has been swayed by the conversation. The program will conclude with a chance for attendees to discuss how, as a generation, we should be helping the movement, or advising them to help advance our priorities.

Panelists include Nir Eisikovits, Assistant Professor, Suffolk University and Director of the Graduate Program in Ethics and Public Policy; Paul McMorrow, Associate Editor, CommonWealth magazine; and Dan Schneider, an editor and contributing writer to the Boston Occupier. The panel will be moderated by WBUR reporter Bianca Vázquez Toness.

The event is the second of the MassINC Associate Board’s “Live Work Play” series. The first event, "Can We Make it in Massachusetts?" examined economic and workplace issues facing the Bay State's young people.
