Ed Lambert is the Executive Director of the Urban Initiative at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He has over 30 years of governmental experience at the state and local levels having serving 12 years as mayor Fall River, where he worked on urban redevelopment, economic development, improving and building schools, providing effective municipal services, and a range of public policy issues. Prior to that, he was also elected to 4 terms in the Massachusetts House of Representatives as well as the Fall River School Committee. Aside from his political career, he also possesses experience as an administrator of a non-profit organization and has a background in human services and education.

His career has provided him with a vast understanding of the current issues facing many of the Commonwealth’s urban areas and under his leadership the Urban Initiative has experienced a period of rapid growth while its work has garnered significant attention from the Governor and his administration, members of the State Legislature, numerous business and industry leaders, philanthropic organizations, and mayors and city managers throughout Massachusetts.
